Your Role

At Saab Muskö, we work with the Swedish Navy's vessels in repair, maintenance, and modifications. Here, you will be part of a close-knit team that constantly works to ensure that the Navy's vessels are available and operational.

As a motor mechanic, you will help ensure that the Navy's surface vessels and submarines are in the best possible condition. The work is varied as it involves vessels of different technological levels, complexities, and ages.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and maintenance of vessels
• Maintenance and repair work on diesel engines with outputs up to 2600kw
• Dismantling and rebuilding engines
• Repairing and maintaining components and hydraulic systems around the engines
• Testing and running in engines
• Participating in test trips of respective vessel classes
• Administrative tasks such as work orders and service reports

Domestic travel may occur.

Your Profile

To apply for the role, we require that you have:

• Experience in similar work, e.g., motor operator
• Good computer skills
• Ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
• Driving license B

It is advantageous if you have experience with drivetrains for heavier vehicles and if you have worked with machining engine parts. Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, and heavy lifting work is a plus.
